The URL tab defines the base URL for surveys and assessments. The base URL defines the beginning of links to surveys (i.e., the portion of the link starting after 'http://' up to survey or invitation specific information. The base URL can be specified to achieve neutral or company specific branding for the link to surveys.

Base URL

Specifies the base URL for survey links. The options available in this group depend on whether the software is installed on the customer's server or used On-Demand, and on the license or subscription level.

• URL domain: specify what type of domain should be used for the survey base URL. This option is available only for subscribers to Novi Survey On-Demand. If 'Predefined domain' is selected, then the domain will correspond to the selected predefined domain in the drop down list below. If 'Custom domain' is selected, then a domain name must be entered in the 'Domain' field.

• Predefined domain: contains the list of domain available in Novi Survey On-Demand.

• Subdomain: the subdomain to use with the predefined domain. For example, if predefined domain
  'novisurvey.net'
  is selected and subdomain is defined as
  'mycompany'
  then the base URL for survey links will be:
  mycompany.novisurvey.net.

• Domain: the custom domain to use for the base survey URL. Note that you must own the domain before using this option. You must also set the DNS for the domain such that the domain resolves to the IP address for the server where Novi Survey is installed. Additionally, if the system is configured to run in secure mode (i.e., using HTTPS), then a SSL certificate must be installed in IIS. Subscribers to the On-Demand service should contact support before using this option.
