Questions can be configured to allow an answer of 'Not applicable'. When a question is answered as 'Not applicable', none of the options defined for the question apply. The only data captured for the question is its being answered as not applicable and optionally a textual reason.
To allow participants to answer a question as 'Not applicable', use option 'Allow not applicable answer' in the question definition page.The option for answering a question as not applicable are found below the 'Comment' field in the question definition page.
- To allow the participant to enter the reason why the question is not applicable, select option 'Allow to enter a textual reason why the question is not applicable'
- To require the participant to enter a reason, select option 'Require reason'
- The reason can be entered through either a single line or a multi-line text field. The type of text field is configured through option 'Reason text widget'
- To customize the textual label for the field, use option "Label for reason"
