Avoid using abbreviations, jargon, or highly technical terms.

Example:

Poor: Should we add a wiki to our website?

Better: Should we give visitors the ability to add content to our website?

Avoid using negative words and never ask a question using a double negative.

Example:

Poor: Should the caller not be transferred to voice mail after a 3 min wait?

Better: Should the caller be transferred to voice mail after a 3 min wait?

Poor: Don't you dislike our questionnaire software?

Better: Do you like our questionnaire software?

Remember that you will always get no more than what you ask for... Happy Surveying!
